Big Data is about making sense of the enormous amount of statistics companies collect, but it’s also about problem solving and overcoming the challenges that come when dealing with such a huge flow of information. Analysts also encounter ethical challenges in defining what information shared on the internet is private.
There is a strong need for Big Data analysis because of its potential to save companies thousands, millions and sometimes billions of dollars. It can help companies make immediate decisions based on responses from their consumers and track patterns in the way they do business.

“I thoroughly enjoyed coming to Big Data. Dr. Lazebnik was a spectacular professor and she explained the material very well. My favorite part was creating a plan for an invention and presenting it with my peers.”
“The teacher made sure to balance time effectively such that we were able to learn a lot and also have a lot of fun. My favorite was the UR experience, I’ve always wanted to try it out.”
“I liked that it covered a lot of different topics and related them to how we could use it in life. I love how a lot of it was hands-on.”
