A hacker targets a system. They attempt to infiltrate it in hopes of stealing precious financial and personal information. They could steal identities, bank account information…but they’re blocked! If it weren’t for cybersecurity specialists, criminals like these could threaten our global wellbeing. EVERYTHING is online. One flimsy safeguard and the system comes crashing down.

If you’re interested in Tech and Computer Science, drawn to coding, or see yourself outwitting computer hackers like these, this program is for you. Maybe you’ll be the person behind the scenes who stops credit cards from being compromised or bank accounts from being drained. You might even protect national security secrets. After all, many CIA operatives specialize in cybersecurity!

Students attending this program will be able to demonstrate a basic understanding of cybersecurity, risk management options and best practices.  Students will gain this knowledge and understanding through recommended readings, classroom teaching, group discussions and course assignments.  Students completing this program will be able to develop a personal cybersecurity strategy to better defend themselves against cyber-attacks.
