Want to learn about pediatrics and neonatology? This is the program for you!
You’ll learn how to assess a newborn’s vital signs, explore common childhood diseases such as measles and mumps, identify neurological disorders, and examine the differences between pediatric medicine and neonatology.
This program will provide a fast-paced, hands-on glimpse into what it’s like to be a pediatrician. Students will gain insight into childhood diseases and contagion, bloodwork, and mental disorders of childhood diagnosis and treatments.
Hands-on activities will include infant CPR and AED training on baby CPR mannequins. Additionally, students will practice patient care on an infant simulator doll, including IV injection, umbilical cord procedures, catheterization, nasal and oral intubation, and more! Students will also have the opportunity to deliver a baby using our birthing simulator, which contains the mother and newborn, along with all of the details you’d see in a real birth such as the umbilical cord and amniotic fluid!
This three-week summer program is designed for teens interested in pre-med.
Note: this page represents our best expectations for the program we will deliver, but is subject to change. We will update this page as new information becomes available.

Applications will open for Summer 2024 on November 1, 2023.

An elite subsection of Pediatrics? Neonatology – the specialization that deals with complex health issues related to newborns. Neonatology often includes complications with pregnancy, premature birth, or birth defects. You’ve probably heard of the NICU, or the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, where premature babies gain the strength they need to go home. That’s just one part of what a Neonatologist is involved with.
Be prepared to practice tiny, baby-sized procedures with hands-on labs and studies. As doctors always say, kids aren’t just little adults. Pediatrics and Neonatology require an entirely specific skillset. If you’ve taken another one of our medical programs before, get ready for something new!
